About Us

Let me introduce you to White Horse...

White Horse Riding functions more like an equine-school than exclusively a riding center.  We are a non-competative barn that teaches what it's like to experience horse ownership, not just riding.  If you're looking to get yourself or your child into the show ring, we're sorry, but this is not the barn for you.

We instruct in english and western riding disciplines, as well as quite a few bareback lessons.  The students will also learn how to groom, tack, lunge, and care for their horse.  Students learn topics from equine behavior to equine care all at their own pace.

Classes are kept small, only 2 students/lesson.  This ensures that every student recieves the attention needed.  Students are grouped with a sibling or with someone of similar skills. Students work through a check list of beginner skills before moving up to learn intermediate and advanced skills.   Our weight limit for students that intend to ride is 200 pounds.

We teach 3 terms each year: spring (daylight savings-end of May), summer (June-August), and fall (Labor Day-Thanksgiving).  Exact dates vary year-to-year.  All 3 terms are about 10 weeks.  Lessons are 1 hour long and held the same day and time each week for that term.  We will reschedule 1 lesson per term.

White Horse has only an outdoor arena and rainouts will not be rescheduled except for extream circumstanes (active tornado sirens).  Horses need care no matter the weather or temperature.  It is our goal to have the students ride every lesson, but that will not be the case in the rain.  On rainy or muddy days students provide their horse with clean food, clean water, and clean shelter.  Students never master the art of riding in 1 lesson, nor will they master stall mucking in 1 lesson.  Once chores are complete, we learn leather care, anatomy, breeds, proper nutrition, and more!

Pricing: what every parent really wants to know.  The 2024 price for Spring Term is $225 and covers 10 lessons from March 11-May 18.
